Gordon Lewis

Gordon Lewis brings a rare blend of technical mastery, creativity, and heart to everything he plays. While he’s fluent on multiple instruments, we’re especially excited he’s bringing his banjo instruction to Coletrain—filling a long-missing piece in our lineup. From the driving style of Flatt & Scruggs to the rhythmic nuance of clawhammer, Gordon offers students a chance to explore the full range of the instrument. He has a true gift for meeting students where they are and helping them discover their own musical voice. We’re incredibly fortunate to have him on the CMA team.

Gordon’s overall teaching philosophy across all instruments emphasizes personalized, student-centered instruction. Whether introducing the fundamentals of patterns and chord transitions or guiding more advanced players through stylistic nuance, he meets each student where they are. He’s taught in both classroom and studio settings and is deeply committed to helping others find their voice through music.
